Call for nominations for Chain of Custody Standard (AS4707) Reference Committee

02-Jul-2012

AFS Ltd has previously called for nominations for the Standard Reference Committee for the review of the Chain of Custody Standard for Certified Wood and Paper Products (AS4707). The review is required to maintain currency of the Standard and to ensure ongoing consistency with the evolving requirements of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Unfortunately the review of this Standard has been delayed but will get underway in the very near future. AFS Ltd will therefore be writing to all relevant, interested organisations to confirm previous nominations or seeking nominations of representatives to the Committee. The Committee is expected to have up to 12 members with a balanced distribution through three categories; forest based industry, community & environment and consumers & customers.

Consistent with the relevant procedures, potential Committee members need to be nominated by a representative organisation relevant to the content of the Standard and the categories identified. Mr Peter Zed is the independent Chair of the Committee. It is anticipated that much, if not all, of the Committee's work will be able to be conducted electronically.
